Fired Boban wins lawsuit with €5.375 million in compensation
There was no “just cause” in Milan’s dismissal of Zvonimir Boban. This is what the Court of Milan decided, which recognized the former manager, represented Mario Cammarata of Trifirò & Partners law firm, a reimbursement of €5.375 million (despite asking for more): of these €4.125 million in pecuniary damages (it was what he should have received until the expiration of the contract in 2023) and €1.125 million in damages for loss of reputation.
In this calculation, we considered the wide echo of the news of the dismissal and the fact that Boban had left a position in Fifa. Milan, waiting to know the reasons, hasn’t commented but has already made it known that it will appeal the decision. Boban was fired after giving an interview to Gazzetta dello Sport in which he criticized the club and CEO Ivan Gazidis for choosing Rangnick (who never came). Sentences deemed harmful by the club: for the judge, however, not sufficient to account for just cause.
